Frequently Asked Questions

1.  Is their space available?

Yes!  We do have room for your child.  Click on the "Enroll Online" tab, and then click on the words "Register Online" to either open a new account and enroll, or log into your account and enroll.

2.  What should my child bring to camp?

*Everything should be labeled with your child's first name and last initial.

-Lunch with plenty to drink (we provide water)

-Sunblock in cream and stick form (children should arrive at camp wearing sunblock)

-Towel

-Closed toe shoes (for sailing)

-A change of clothes

-A sweatshirt or light weight jacket for those cool mornings and evenings.

-Visor (optional)

-Sunglasses (optional)

3.  What time does camp begin?

Regular Camp Day - 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

     Drop off 9:00-9:30 a.m. / Pick up 3:30-4:00 p.m.

Extended Camp 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.; 4:00 p.m. -5:00 p.m.; 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. ($8/hour or portion of the hour)

4.  What should my child wear to camp?

Children should come to camp wearing their swimwear underneath shorts and a shirt.  They will be given one Ballona Beach rash guard and two t-shirts on their first day.  These items are included in the cost of enrollment.  Additional rash guards and/or t-shirts may be purchased if desired.

5.  Can I add days and/or make changes to my schedule?

Yes, to add days and/or make changes to your schedule, add pick-up persons, etc. click on the "Enroll Online" tab and follow the directions on the bottom of the page.

6.  Will my child be able to go kayaking? sailing? windsurfing?

Campers ages 7 - 14 will go kayaking and sailing once per week on either Tuesday or Wednesday (The campers kayak for half of the period and will sail for the other portion of the period, weather permitting).  Campers ages 10-14 will go windsurfing every other Thursday.  Campers must be enrolled 5 days prior to any scheduled sailing, kayaking, or windsurfing day in order to attend.

7.  Do I have to pay an additional fee for kayaking, sailing, and windsurfing?

No, the cost of kayaking, sailing, and windsurfing is included in the cost of your enrollment.

8.  Where do I go?

From Culver City & Mar Vista:

To reach camp travel West on the 90 Marina Freeway. Exit Culver Boulevard and make a left. Take Culver Boulevard to Pacific Avenue and make a right. Enter parking lot on right located between 65th Avenue and  66th Avenue

on the southside. In this parking lot you will sign-in/sign-out your child(ren).

From El Segundo & Manhattan Beach:

To reach camp travel north on Highland Avenue (turns into Vista Del Mar).  Make a left onto Culver Boulevard, and then a right onto Pacific Avenue. Enter parking lot on right located between 65th Avenue and 66th Avenue

on the southside. In this parking lot you will sign-in/sign-out your child(ren).

To reach camp travel north on the 405 Freeway. Merge onto the 90 Marina Freeway West. Exit

Culver Boulevard and make a left. Take Culver Boulevard to Pacific Avenue and make a right. Enter parking lot on right located between 65th Avenue and 66th Avenue on the southside. In this parking lot you will sign-in/sign-out your child(ren).

From Marina Del Rey and Venice:

To reach camp travel south on Lincoln Boulevard. Make a right onto Jefferson Boulevard, and then a left onto Culver Boulevard. Thereafter, make a right on Pacific Avenue. Enter parking lot on right located between 65th Avenue and  66th Avenue

on the southside. In this parking lot you will sign-in/sign-out your child(ren).

From Westchester:

Take Lincoln Blvd. north. Make a left onto Jefferson Blvd. Make another left onto Culver Blvd.  Thereafter, make a right on Pacific Avenue. Enter parking lot on right located between 65th Avenue and 66th Avenue

on the southside. In this parking lot you will sign-in/sign-out your child(ren).

For Extended Camp* Drop-Off () and Pick-Up () Directions

Follow directions above except after turning onto Pacific Avenue. Stop near the intersection of  Pacific Avenue and Convoy Street. Enter the beach at this intersection. Camp is set up where the path opens onto the beach. This is where you can sign you camper in/out.

 *Extended Camp is available for a cost of $8.00/hour or portion thereof.
